Our Packaging Collection Program

Less than 14% of plastic packaging is recycled globally, and hard-to-recycle packaging (think small beauty products) is even less likely to be recycled. In partnership with Pact Collective (an NGO advocating for circularity within the beauty industry), we’ve built a collection program to recycle your hard-to-recycle packaging. Once we receive your empties, we’ll help give them the potential for new life that prevents them from ending up a landfill. Here’s to letting clean beauty live on.

 

If you’re not local to a Beautycounter retail store or collection bin we encourage you to mail back all empty hard-to-recycle packaging to the Pact Collective facility to be properly broken down. We will accept non-Beautycounter packaging that is hard-to-recycle. 

Here’s how:

1. Collect up to 10 empty hard-to-recycle beauty packages in a box (no larger than 6”x6”x3”) or envelope (no larger than 8”x12”) *sustainability tip: use a leftover Beautycounter box you have laying around!
2. Go to beautycounter.com/packaging to download a $5 shipping label. Beautycounter covers the program and recycling fees and we ask that participants cover the shipping fee. Pact Collective is a non-profit, and as our packaging collection program scales we will reassess our shipping options.
3. Drop your package in the mailbox and Pact will recycle your empties

*Packaging must be completely empty and dry before you mail them back. Packaging that is still full or partially full of product is at high risk of being landfilled even if you place it in your recycling bin. Please make sure you use all the product or give it a quick rinse.
